The World Combat Games 2023 is an upcoming multi-sport event that will feature a variety of combat sports and martial arts. Karate is included among these, and the competition will be held on October 20 and 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tournament is limited to U21 categories in both Kata and Kumite, with eight competitors per division participating.
The World Combat Games aims to be a bridge between elite sports and local communities, bringing together the most thrilling combat sports and martial arts. This will be the third edition of the games, with previous editions held in Beijing (2010) and St. Petersburg (2013). Karate was included in the program on both occasions.
At the last World Combat Games in 2013, France topped the Karate competition’s medal table with a total of four medals, including two golds. Other standout performances came from Azerbaijan and Japan, who won two and three medals, respectively.
