The Guardian Girls Global Karate project by the WKF

Guardian girls promotion

The World Karate Federation (WKF) recently announced an exciting initiative called “Guardian Girls”. This worldwide project is designed to promote girls’ participation in karate.

The “Guardian Girls” project is in fact based on a campaign developed by the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC). The main idea behind the campaign was to actively encourage girls aged 8 to 15 to get involved in sport, by offering them a comprehensive training program as well as competitive opportunities.

As part of this project, a number of activities have been set up to encourage girls to get involved. These activities include training sessions, karate demonstrations and participation in sporting competitions. The aim is to provide girls with a safe and engaging space to learn and practice karate, while giving them the opportunity to develop their skills and compete with others.

The WKF has big plans for the “Guardian Girls” initiative. The project, which will initially be deployed in Colombia, is intended to be extended to other developing countries. The ambition is to reach as many young girls as possible around the world and encourage them to become actively involved in karate.

The ultimate aim of the Guardian Girls initiative is to promote gender equality in sport. The WKF is convinced that the project can play a key role in overcoming the socio-cultural barriers that often prevent girls from taking part in combat sports such as karate. What’s more, by offering girls the chance to take part in a sport like karate, the project hopes to contribute to their personal and social development.

In summary, the WKF’s “Guardian Girls” project is an ambitious and important initiative to promote girls’ participation in karate. This is an important step towards encouraging greater gender equality in sport and helping young girls to realize their full potential, both as athletes and as active members of their communities.
