The karate competition started this morning in Poland. It is expected to be a major attraction at the 2023 European Games, which are taking place in Poland. The European Games, held every four years, are the largest multi-sport event in Europe after the 2012 Olympics in London. Karate has been part of the European Games since the first edition.

Results of first day of 3rd European Games

The Karate competition of the 2023 European Games started in Bielsko-Biala, the biggest Karate hub in Poland. The city also hosts the Polish Open, a significant event in the European Karate Federation’s sports calendar.

The competition is scheduled for June 22 and 23.

In this event, 96 athletes from 33 countries will participate, including Olympic champions, silver medallists, bronze medallists, and World champions. The competition will involve eight competitors per category, divided into two pools of four. The competition will be conducted on two tatamis, with two categories competing simultaneously. The competition follows a Round Robin system, where all competitors in a pool face each other.
